Then and Now! My interactive Groundhog Day's take!

Then and Now is set in a time loop with a few key moments happening around the map. The player is supposed to figure out how to seize those moments to find a way to stop the time loop and be set free! What you are seeing was made all by myself in less than a week.

Then and now was inspired by the great Minit, which is a game you can play on steam.

Then and Now has 15 "rooms". Each room has something to add to the player's knowledge or inventory. Every 60 seconds, time runs out and the game starts over. Depending on some things you do in some runs, the characters might behave differently.

There are about 6 items that you can find throughout the 60 seconds, there are some things and some characters that could give you those items before they are supposed to show up and you can use those items to bring the loop to an end or to do other things that might be considered *spoilers*.

The soundtrack was also made during that week, the background music takes 60 seconds exactly, and the tempo of the song beats with the clock's ticking. The different sound effects were also made from scratch (although there wasn't enough time to make all the sounds I planned to make).

This game came to being because of a game jam (VimJam), the theme was "There and back" and it had an extra condition called a focus and it was "Collectables". I would love to expand this idea further into maybe a few self contained levels with their own scenarios. But I have to address the feedback that I had received over the time for this game.

You can try the game out now on your web browser (PC) or download it for windows through it's itch page, here!
